Started in autograss in 1988. Returned to racing in 99 after an eight-year break to contest the 750MC Stock Hatch championship. Stepped up to Volkswagen Racing Cup in 2001 with a Class B Golf GTI. Finished 12th in Class A in 2002 with turbo Golf with a best race placing of seventh in class. In 2003 claimed 11th overall in championship with a best race placing of fifth. Upped the pace in 2004 to claim podium finishes at Croft and Snetterton and fourth in championship. Claimed his maiden race win in 2005 to finish championship ninth
