Started racing in karts in 1996. Switched to single-seaters in 2000 in the Formula Vauxhall Junior Championship; fifth in championship with one race win. After Formula Ford and Formula Renault outings in 2001, entered the Monoposto Championship for 2002 and won the crown with 10 race victories from 11 starts. Entered Volkswagen Racing Cup in 2004 and was immediately competitive; race victories at Croft and Oulton Park led to the drivers championship crown |
